COLLAGE PROJECT

This project was created based on two clients from different backgrounds. The idea was to create apartments that help improve these users' lives. Scroll down to learn more about this project.

BACKGROUND

This project was designed for three different clients: 1 female from Ghana, 1 male from Slovakia, and 1 ADA elder. The goal of this project is to learn how to cater people who have come from different countries, backgrounds, cultures, and religions. This is essentially an apartment complex that doubles a an office and comforting community center. One of the main challenges was it's overall ceiling height of 18' which was combatted by creating fun and creative lofts for each client.

When you enter the building, it's meant to feel timeless as well as truly welcoming especially for those who just came from a different country. the usage of furniture from different time periods, countries, as well as usage of cultural materials allow the space to feel more inclusive and less of a cultural shock or lack of belonging.
